Answers
Question: I would like to meet Yogiraj. Where and when is the nearest opportunity to see Him?
Answer: Yogiraj generally spends December through May in India and travels to Europe and the United States from June to November. The best opportunity to meet Yogiraj would be when he is giving public events, all of which are listed here.
In India Yogiraj holds events in Pune, Delhi, Chandigarh and Bangalore. In Europe, Yogiraj holds events in England, Italy, Germany and Switzerland. In the USA, Yogiraj holds events in San Francisco area, Los Angeles, San Diego and Portland. Occasionally Yogiraj does visit other locations. To find out when and where Yogiraj will be, you can subscribe to our monthly newsletter.
Question: I would like to visit Yogiraj's Ashram. How can I make arrangements to visit?
Answer: Yogiraj holds several retreats at the forest ashram throughout the winter months. Generally there is an Indian retreat in January & late March, and a German retreat in the early spring. The main retreat for Westerners is held around the high holiday known as Mahashivaratri, which falls anywhere from early February to mid-March. During the retreats you will receive accomodation, food, and plenty of personal time with Yogiraj. You can find out the ashram retreat schedules here.
Please do not show up at the ashram unannounced. For every visitor sleeping & food arrangements must be made ahead of time. Yogiraj also travels quite a bit within India and may not be around, or else He may be engaged in intensive meditation practices or focusing on His work for serving humanity.

Question: I would like to receive initiation into Kriya Yoga. How can I learn this sacred technique?
Answer: The best way to learn the sacred science of Kriya Yoga is directly from Yogiraj. You can find out when and where the nearest Kriya Yoga empowerment by Yogiraj is by visiting our schedule page. Initiation into Kriya Yoga takes place at empowerments, or else at New Life Awakening retreats, where Yogiraj has ample time to teach other advanced techniques as well.
If Yogiraj is not visiting near you or you cannot travel to meet Yogiraj this year, you can also receive initiation from an authorized Acharya. The Acharya teaching schedule is also posted on our schedule pages, to see these, you may need to select "view all events." To find out when Yogiraj or an Acharya may be near your area, you can subscribe to our monthly newsletter.
Question: I would like Yogiraj to come visit my area. How can we set this up?
Answer: Generally, Yogiraj visits where he is called to go inwardly. Yogiraj's schedule is usually planned almost a year in advance and chances are that if the schedule does not show Yogiraj visiting near your area, it will not be possible for Him to visit this year. Your best bet is to come meet Yogiraj personally and invite him directly. If Yogiraj decides it is right to come to your area, the Hamsa Yoga Sangh will do everything possible to make this happen.
Question:I am in need of healing, or know someone in need of healing. Will Yogiraj heal us?
Answer: Yogiraj often says "The only real healing is the healing of identification with the false self with that of the True Self." Yogiraj's teachings and mission are mainly aimed around the evolution of our consciousness and realizing that we "are not this house of flesh and bone, which sleeps decays and dies. We are immortal consciousness, lords of eternal skies." Physical, emotional and mental healing are generally, but not necessarily byproducts of spiritual healing. Many people have been healed of serious conditions through the practice of Kriya Yoga and with being in Yogiraj's presence, however, Yogiraj does not take requests for healing based on the reasons mentioned here. According to Yogiraj, it is the person's faith in the Master and the Divine which actualizes the healing. If you would still like to speak with Yogiraj about healing, the best thing is to attend a public event and ask him directly. You can view Yogiraj's schedule here.
Question:I already am practicing a different form of meditation. Will the practice of Kriya Yoga conflict with my other practices?
Answer: Kriya Yoga is a universal path and does not conflict with any other paths or practices. The regular practice of Kriya Yoga will support and enhance the value of any other techniques you may be doing. The only request made by Yogiraj is that you do not include other elements into the practice of Kriya Yoga. For example, if you practice Kriya Yoga in the morning, then afterwards you may practice any other spiritual disciplines you know, just do not mix those techniques into the Kriya Yoga practice itself.
Question:I wish to become a teacher of Kriya Yoga, how do I go about getting certification?
Answer: Yogiraj alone decides who is authorized to teach Kriya Yoga and when they are ready. Before becoming a teacher of Kriya Yoga, start with meeting Yogiraj, receiving empowerment, and practicing sincerely and regularly. Generally, if you show an aptitude of honesty, sincerity and commitment for a number of years, Yogiraj will notice and authorize you to teach by making you a Hamsacharya. Once becoming a Hamsacharya, you will be required to undergo teacher training course upon whose completion you will receive certification.
Question:I have a question that is not on this list. Where can I address this question?
